Gradwell Service News

As part of our ongoing network upgrades, we are planning to migrate a number of our Disk Storage arrays and VMWare servers onto our new ethernet network in Telehouse.

There will be a few brief interuptions (sub 1 min) to VoIP and Email services whilst cables are moved.

In the event of any unforseen problems, there is the potential that we may experience longer down time, particularly with respect to our disk storage arrays. However, we have already done some migrations onto the new network and are confident we are aware and have managed the potential risks.

Customers may experience some delay send email through two of the four servers in our mail cluster due a backlog of email caused by a customer with an open relay. We have shut down access for the affected customer, however the queues may take some time to clear down.

One of our VoIP servers, lon-pbx-3.gradwell.net has recovered from a brief outage where a problem was discovered with the filesystem threads. Calls were affected for a ~60 second period whilst the Asterisk service restarted.

If you are still experiencing calling issues and your account is registered on lon-pbx-3.gradwell.net please raise a support request via email or our portal.

We are aware that some customers are currently not receiving email notifications sent from GradwellStatus.com.  We are currently looking into this problem.  There is currently no ETA for when the problem will be resolved.

Update (10:34 am): this issue has now been resolved.

Due to a problem with one of our older inbound IAX servers, which routes calls to customers asterisk servers using inbound IAX trunks, the service has failed over to a different machine.

There was a short service outage during the fail over, but there should be no remaining problems, except for customers who have firewalled their servers to only accept calls from one specific server.

The servers Inbound IAX calls will come from are 193.111.201.75, 193.111.201.99, and 193.111.201.100, 193.111.201.114

To perform some essential server maintenance one of our Centrex servers (lon-pbx-6.gradwell.net) will be briefly offline on Tuesday 29th July at approximately 22:00.  All active calls and registrations will be dropped however we expect the downtime to be no more than a few minutes, and if all goes well it should be much shorter.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this work may cause.

Update (22:25)

This work has been completed and the new server appears to be fully functional.  Users on lon-pbx-6 will have experienced approximately 5 minutes of intermittent problems between 22:16 and 22:21.

We are currently investigating an issue with our SquirrelMail preference file system which is now off-line and being throughly checked for possible corruption. This will prevent access to webmail, although our alternative client, Horde, can still be used. We should be able to bring this back online shortly. Although unlikely, should you see problems with colours, addressbooks and other preferences in SquirrelMail, please notify support.

We are currently aware of issues accessing the Gradwell Hosting Control Panel and also the VoIP Control Panels.
Server engineers are currently investigating this outage, and we will post further information to gradwellstatus.com

There has been an outage due to a file-system falling back to read-only mode on v-mail-file-4.

Customers on this file server will experience issues with POP3 and IMAP email whilst the server recovers which may be several minutes as the file system is checked. Please accept our apologies for this interruption.
