Outbound mail delays

We are currently aware of some delays on our outbound mail cluster. We have investigated and this is currently due to high demand on our outbound relay servers from customers. A request has been raised to our server team to investigate a capacity upgrade if it is required.  We apologise for any inconvenience this may be causing this evening.

Update 16:15 2008/10/28
We are currently clearing a backlog of mail from our servers which have been due to some abuse of the service by a small number of customers.  These customers have been removed from the service and our servers are currently processing a large backlog of legitimate customer mail.  Outbound mail be incur a delay of 20-30 minutes.

Update 2008/10/29
All customer mail queues have now cleared and we are seeing normal mail delivery times on the network.
