Emergency Maintenance On PHP 5.2 Cluster
Starts: 2009/01/06 22:00 Ends 2009/01/06 23:59
We have identified a problem with the load balancer that sits in front of our PHP 5.2 cluster. This problem has been causing some websites on our PHP 5.2 cluster to be unavailable for periods of time.
Tonight, we will be removing the load balancer, and moving the PHP 5.2 cluster to sit behind our Squid reverse proxies. Websites hosted on the PHP 5.2 cluster may be unavailable during this move, although we will do our best to keep downtime to a minimum.
What Customers Need To Do
Websites that rely on the following features will be affected by this change:
- The allow/deny Apache .htaccess feature will no longer work. Apache will only see the Squid proxy as the incoming IP address, not the original client.
Customers who rely on these features will need to update their websites accordingly.
We apologise for the short notice given for this maintenance.
